Works until 1991

This page shows some figurative works, from my years at the Fine Arts Academy of Milan and shortly afterwards. I also did a mural in a traditional style for a Medieval Umbrian small town in 1988. At the same time the work evolved towards a more two-dimensional, animalesque style. Reliefs in reinforced, painted plaster have been installed on the walls of Medieval fortresses (Perugia and San Quirico d'Orcia) and a villa from the 17th century (Boffalora) where they appear as neither foreign, nor quite autochthonous elements: they are clearly not original but appear to feel at home, and to enrich the environment. And while they are clearly contemporary, they have some timeless element as well. The panel with illuminated eyes is a decoration I did for a bar in Oslo in the late 1980s, and is one of the first works in which my "animal" makes its appearance.
